Jahnke GmbH continues production despite insolvency
Preliminary insolvency proceedings ordered; jobs and production at works initially safeguarded; Hamburg insolvency administrator Dr Gideon Böhm to draw up restructuring concept
Hamburg, 31 January 2012 – Preliminary insolvency proceedings were ordered on Wednesday, 25 January concerning the assets of Jahnke GmbH & Co. KG. The Reinbek District Court (Amtsgericht Reinbek – AG Reinbek 8 IN 20/12) appointed Dr Gideon Böhm of the Hamburg law firm Münzel & Böhm as preliminary insolvency administrator. “Advance financing of insolvency payments has made it possible to safeguard the salaries and jobs of the 230 employees initially,” says Böhm.
Jahnke GmbH is one of the leading international manufacturers of media, computer and office furniture, with production based predominantly in Trittau (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) near Hamburg. “Manufacture at the Trittau works will be maintained and as things stand today all orders will be able to be completed according to contract,” explains the insolvency administrator. Böhm will be drawing up a viable restructuring concept in the coming two to three months with the goal of safeguarding Jahnke GmbH & Ko. KG’s business operations in the long term.
Restructuring is the goal
